GYL CAMP 2008

This will be a long post. Early in the morning cabbed with Natalie, Lishi and Samantha to the ferry terminal. Sat at the upper deck of the ferry. The breeze, wind and sea was fantastic!(: Upon reaching Batam around 0930 was breakfast. Room 328. Near, don't need to climb the hill. But still, the stairs-______- blah. SB students are fated to climb stairs and slope. lol.
Jungle challenge after lunch. It was a first time I tried jungle challenge. Fun but tiring and when it rains, zzzz! :/ Sliding down those rocks, muddy small river when your shoes will just sank in if not careful, finding the number cards among the trees, mosquitoes and many more. A totally enriching experience, and at some times, we feel like we "conquered" the world. When we look down from that cliff/mountain/hill whatever it is called. The feeling is awesome!(: We looked like Harry Potters, witches or wizards and little red riding hoods because of our dark blue/red ponchos. heh. Powerpuff tooks the longest time to finish but at least we had fun along the way:D


At 4.04am, cecilia called our room and came over with aliyo and kukujah. 3 bitten by some unknown bugs and Ceci was the worst, sexy lips! Everyone was in a blurry state of mind as we listened. poor ceci. She kept saying, " I never felt so ugly in my life. " hah, thank god all of them was much better the next day after seeing doc.

2nd day. High ropes first. Conquering height phobia. hahaha. Challenging, need a lot of determination lah! My hands and legs are seriously short. zz. The best part was flying fox! woohooo!

resumes day two:






after high rope was raft building. Our group,Powerpuff rocks for this! Raft that we build managed to come back, both rounds. survive! :) somemore somemore!

first group(:

after a tiring day, all jumped into a swimming pool and played! Peer-to-peer workshop, and then captain ball. Captain ball. Roar. I should have sticked to my first decision that i should not play. Dont wanna slip and fall. Everybody removed slippers. But not enough people, so played. and stepped on to some random stupid bee which was lying on the fateful spot, anywhere but there. zzz. Was snatching the captain ball with Idy, and then out of a sudden, just pain at the sole of the feet. Shock of my life, the bee was on sticking on to my feet. Presumes that it was okay, i continue for a few minutes before realising my feet was numb and there was a stupid hole. a small minute hole yet so visible. okay, don't know what i am saying. Applied alcohol and people told me it was hornet lah. blah blah blah, will die lah all those nonsense, i was super calm thou. pretty shocked by my own behaviour. mini surgery in the room where the sting was removed. heh. Despite removing the sting, now got some infection? my feet is lousy seriously. antibiotics all the way now. roar.

3rd day:Paintball. Dangerous, exciting but painful game. I was sub, cuz cant run because of the swelling. When sub in, wooha, felt like some mini jungle war with the outfit. look like china soldiers. hahahaha.

Free and easy time next. Leisure lunch and went to explore the place with both sams and alvin.

met the rest at the Yatch club and went to Forgel's room. Preparations for gala night skit and advertisment. super funny i tell you. still can sing camp songs. lol.

Gala night was fun, with all the activties. Powerpuff was the group to present the skit and ad. Though we never win anything, we had fun, especially rocking down the stage part.Singing that cheer. a bit racist lah. but purely fun. heh.
Emcees were great, clinton and wynee! Food was fantastic!(:

after gala night, bathe and went over to our respective grpmate's bunk. Went to forgel's room? i think. Ghost stories, racist jokes all the way from one plus to 4am. Then met more people to watch sunrise. Cecilia was the one who initiated it but not there-.- slept already. heh.Jovan was super super funny lah. Talked to him like talk to little kid. LOL. went back, slept forawhile, and breakfast.

Last day. Debrief, presentations and blah.

A&W with group mates. Walked around but seriously nothing to buy. And all were falling asleep. heh. The most frightening part was when me and aliyo went to the toilet and came back, everyone was gone! super scary lah.LOST. lol, thank goodness, a few passerbys told us and based on last yr's memories, went to the terminal and rejoined the rest.

upper deck again, and wind, sea! heh. Played cards all the way and some butter finger games. hilarious. heh.

This camp is phyiscally tiring. Rope burns, bruises and mini injuries. roar!
Carried two different feelings for the different GYL camp trips last yr and this year.
Last year was under observation by the seniors and advisors, and this time round, really played hard!This year's activities are much better too(:

Sad that we can't go next year's camp, but still if we were to go again, it will be kinda boring.
Had lots of fun during this camp! (:

SB bonding camp would be the last camp that I am attending,organizing, i think.
Kinda sad ah, i wanna be facil for camp but there was no chance to be. Nevertheless, all still had fun!wheee!
